In 2008 Sarah Schiderman, of Scene Creative, was asked by Goldenvoice to create a free DIY space at the Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festivals. Since then, we have not missed a year. Today, the project has expanded to a 5,000 square foot installation in the heart of the Coachella Fest Campgrounds. This project includes two art rooms contained within the space and various craft booths featuring different creative stations. The studio is in response to the need for a hands-on, intimate space within the larger festival experience, bringing people together through skill sharing, crafts and culture. We have created a safe place where people can express themselves freely and confidently. Here is where culture and community thrive in a temporary space. Our craft installations leave a lasting memory paired with tangible items for the audience to take home and hold on to all year long.
